Services across the Goulburn Electorate – ANZAC DAY Thursday 25th April
On Tuesday, April 25, 2024, I join locals at Anzac Day dawn services, marches, and other commemorative events across the Goulburn electorate. These events honour the sacrifices made by Australians who have fought for the freedoms we enjoy today.
Many local Returned and Services League sub-branches are planning commemorative services and wreath-laying events across townships and villages for 2024. Wendy makes every effort to attend as many of these services as possible to pay her respects to former and current servicemen and women.
Details for the 2024 services across the Goulburn electorate will be provided on this page once they are confirmed. Below are details from previous years’ events for reference.

Crookwell
5:00am Gunfire breakfast at Crookwell Services Club followed by March at 5.30am to Memorial Park
6:00am Dawn service commences at Memorial Park followed by breakfast – free for RSL Members, ADF personal and marchers wearing medals that possess a voucher, please present this to Services Club Bar Staff. $10.00 for anyone wishing to join the sub-Branch for breakfast.
10:30am Assemble for March at Crookwell Services Club
11:00am Commemorative service at Memorial Park
1:00pm A Lunch will be held at the Crookwell Services Club (to be seated by 12:45pm) – The meal is free to RSL Sub-Branch Members, ex- and serving members of the ADF, providing they notify the sub-Branch or the Crookwell Services Club (4832 1265) by Monday 22 April 2024. All others, $25.00.
4:00PM The traditional Two-Up Game will be held in the auditorium of the Services Club, all proceeds go to Legacy.
RAAF fly-over planned – most likely by a C130 Hercules Transport from 37 Squadron RAAF. Time and other details to be advised.
Exeter
9:00am Commemorative Service at Exeter Park
Goulburn
5:30am Dawn Memorial Service at Belmore Park. On completion of Dawn Service, War Graves Service and attendees’ breakfast at 6.20am
9:00am Service at Soldiers Chapel in St. Saviour’s Cathedral, Bourke Street
10:30am March forms at corner of Auburn and Clinton Streets.
11:00 March commences down Auburn St to Belmore Park Commemorative Service, commencing approx. 11:40am
The Rocky Hill War Memorial Tower will open at 5am to mark the dawn of ANZAC Day and will remain open until 4pm. The Museum will be open from 10am to 4pm.
The Mulwaree High School Remembrance Museum will also be open on Thursday 25th April 12pm to 4pm for ANZAC Day and then again every Sunday from 2pm to 4pm.

9:00am Commemorative service at War Memorial, Community Hall Grounds. Followed by Wreath Laying and gold coin donation morning tea.
Gunning
5:45am Dawn service at the Cenotaph, followed by $5 breakfast at Foley Centre
10:40am March down Yass Street, followed by Commemorative service at Gunning Cenotaph, Warrataw Street. This year Gunning is honoured to host members of Australia’s Federation Guard as a Catafalque Party. The Australian Federation Guard is the Australian Defence Force’s official tri-service ceremonial unit.

6:00am Dawn service at the Cenotaph, Breakfast to follow at Terminus Hotel
11:00am Commemorative service at the Cenotaph, CWA morning tea follow at Hall
Murrumbateman
9:30am Commemorative service at Jones Park. The service will be followed by morning tea at the Murrumbateman Country Inn.
The usual ANZAC Day “Two-Up” event will be held at the Murrumbateman Pub- Murrumbateman Country Inn from 12.30pm.

5.45am Dawn Service at Sutton Public School Memorial Gates in Victoria St, followed by free BBQ breakfast at the Fire Shed. All donations go to Legacy Australia.
