$34,906 GRANT HELPS SUPPORT VULNERABLE FAMILIES ACROSS THE GOULBURN ELECTORATE

Home-Start National Inc has received $34,906 in funding through the NSW Govern-ment’s 2025 Community Building Partnership Program (CBP) to purchase a new vehicle to support its programs across Goulburn Mulwaree, Yass Valley, and Upper Lachlan.

The new vehicle will be used across several key programs, including Domestic, Family and Sexual Violence support, the Family Worker service, and Peer Support (Volunteer Home Visiting) initiatives.

This project will double the number of family connections, improve access to essential services and facilities, and reduce waiting times for vulnerable families and survivors of domestic and sexual assault across the region.
Member for Goulburn, Wendy Tuckerman MP, said:

“Home-Start does incredible work providing compassionate, practical support to families in crisis. This funding will help them reach more people, more often, ensuring that vulnerable families and survivors get the help they need when they need it.”

Home-Start Australia CEO, Michelle McDonell, said the funding means the organisation can respond more quickly to families who are struggling.

“With a second vehicle, our team and volunteers will be able to connect with twice as many families, reducing isolation and ensuring people can access the right support without long delays.”

Home-Start National Inc provides community-based, early intervention and crisis support services to families experiencing stress, isolation, or trauma. Their volunteer home-visiting program pairs trained staff with families to offer mentoring, guidance, and con-nection to local resources.

The Community Building Partnership program has funded more than 22,400 community projects since 2009, supporting not-for-profit organisations and councils to deliver projects that strengthen local communities.
