FULL TELEVISION RECEPTION RESTORED TO TARALGA

Member for Goulburn, Wendy Tuckerman MP, has welcomed the restoration of full tele-vision reception for the Taralga community, following weeks of disruption to free-to-air services.

On behalf of the community Mrs Tuckerman has been actively advocating since July, af-ter a damaged retransmitter left households without access to key channels and vital lo-cal news bulletins.

“Local news and television services are essential for regional communities, especially in times of emergency,” Mrs Tuckerman said. “I am pleased to confirm that as of Wednes-day, full television reception has been restored to Taralga village.”

Mrs Tuckerman paid special tribute to Pacific Blue’s team for their cooperation and pro-fessionalism, singling out Lachlan Sturt and Hannah Coffey for their outstanding efforts in resolving the issue.

Mrs Tuckerman also acknowledged Pacific Blue’s broader support in undertaking both interim measures and long-term fixes to ensure the reliability of services moving forward.

“I want to thank the residents of Taralga for their patience during this frustrating time, and to Pacific Blue for working closely with my office to listen to the residents and deliver this truly ideal outcome,” Mrs Tuckerman said.

“Communities that host renewable energy projects should not be left struggling for basic services such as television reception. It is not a luxury — it’s an essential service that most people rightly take for granted.

“Taralga residents have shown remarkable patience throughout this ordeal, but they should never have been placed in this position. I am pleased that after strong advocacy, this matter has finally been resolved.”
