PARK, POOL, PAVILLION – CRIF WINNERS ACROSS GOULBURN

Member for Goulburn Wendy Tuckerman has congratulated the successful local recipients of the 2024–25 Crown Reserves Improvement Fund (CRIF), with more than $1 million awarded to projects in the Goulburn electorate to support vital repairs and upgrades to Crown land facilities.

“This funding proves what I’ve said time and again – our rural and regional communities do the hard yards, and they deserve their fair share,” Mrs Tuckerman said.

Despite the State Labor Government’s decision to reduce the total CRIF allocation from $18 million, local communities have succeeded in securing vital support.

Projects funded in the Goulburn electorate include:

  • Bungonia Park $8,272 for eradication and containment of invasive weeds.
  • Goulburn Showground Pavillion $688,300 for the replacement of the concrete floor in the Peden Pavilion, improving accessibility and safety for community events.
  • Yass Pool $365,411 to upgrade the high-voltage power supply, allowing the pool to be heated and enabling future lighting upgrades to better serve the community year-round.

Mrs Tuckerman said the funding outcomes this year demonstrated both the resilience of regional applicants and the ongoing value of the CRIF program to our communities.

I’m proud to see funding flowing to Bungonia, Goulburn and Yass but we cannot ignore the reality that the total funding pool has been gutted under this Labor Government,” she said.

“Congratulations to the land managers, on this fantastic result, who continue to serve their communities under increasingly difficult conditions.”

The CRIF is a self-sustaining program funded by interest on Crown land leases, licences and caravan park levies. It provides critical investment for the maintenance, improvement and safety of government-owned community land.
