Celebrating Highland Spirit at Brigadoon in Bundanoon

The spirit of the Highlands was alive and well this weekend at the much-loved Brigadoon at Bundanoon, one of the Southern Highlands’ most iconic and cherished events.

Thousands gathered under crisp autumn skies to enjoy a spectacular display of Scottish culture, with the day beginning in traditional style as the Mass Bands took to the oval – always a highlight of the festival and a moving sight to behold. With over 26 clans in attendance, the atmosphere was one of colour, pride and kinship, as tartan-clad marchers filled the town with music and heritage.

This year’s festivities were made even more special with the presence of Lord Strathspey, who served as the invited Chieftain of the Day, continuing a proud tradition of honouring Scottish leadership and community.

It was a privilege to attend Brigadoon again this year and witness firsthand the incredible sense of community and tradition it brings to Bundanoon.

Congratulations to Peter Rocca and the entire committee for their tireless efforts – it was a truly wonderful morning.

From terriers to tossing, dancing, piping, and everything in between, Brigadoon continues to be a celebration of culture and community that brings people together from across the region and beyond.

Well done to all involved in delivering another outstanding day in Bundanoon.
