NSW SEEKS INCINERATOR FEEDBACK

Yesterday the NSW Labor Government announced proposed changes to the NSW energy from waste framework.

I continue to be disappointed by the Labor Government and the decision they have made to ignore the communities they serve. I am disgusted by the hypocrisy of the NSW Environment Minister who opposed incineration in Western Sydney and fully supports it in our regions.

One of the changes is the locations where energy from waste facilities can be proposed and developed, adding Tomago, removing Richmond – yet completely ignoring Tarago. No proposed Sydney sites have been added.

I will continue to support my community by fighting for Tarago and opposing waste incineration in the Goulburn region. It shouldn’t be here. It should be located where the waste is produced – in Sydney.

I encourage every constituent in Goulburn who values local produce, our agricultural industry, our fresh air to please make a submission opposing our region as Sydney’s dumping ground.

If this industry is as safe as it is claimed, then it should be located in Sydney – as the producer of the waste that is being processed.

Please take this survey or send a submission to energyfromwaste@epa.nsw.gov.au

This public consultation is open until May 16, 2025. After this period, the Government has detailed that feedback will be reviewed and will inform the next steps.

Sydney’s Rubbish, Sydney’s Problem.

If it’s Safe for Sydney – keep it there.

Keep Toxic Waste Out of Our Place.

Goulburn’s Future, Not Sydney’s Garbage.
