Dannielle Johns, Home Start Bowral is being celebrated with a Community Service Award in recognition of the significant contribution she has made to the local region.
State Member for Goulburn, Wendy Tuckerman presented the award to Ms Johns in a surprise morning tea at Home Start Bowral office this morning.
Mrs Tuckerman congratulated Ms Johns on the honour, acknowledging her personal dedication to helping others and the work she has done to support the community.
“Danielle is a sole worker at Home-Start contracted to support vulnerable families with parenting programs, information, referral, advocacy, and a weekly supported playgroup.
“Danielle is well known for going above and beyond her contracted work, recognising the devastating effects of drought, bush fires, COVID, and landslides and floods that these have all had on local communities.
“Danielle is a powerhouse of ideas, energy and exceptionally community spirited, which has undoubtedly assisted many within the local community and for this I sincerely thank Danielle,” Mrs Tuckerman said.
Home-Start Family Services is a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to helping children and families thrive by providing practical parenting support and training, family case management and community connection.
The NSW Government Community Service Award was nominated by the Local NSW State Member of Parliament for the community work performed within the electorate.
The nominee should be held in high regard in the community with strong ethical and community values. Only community work of a high calibre will be considered for the award – an official certificate bearing the NSW State Coat of Arms and the Premier’s signature.
