STEVE EDMONDS SERVICE RECOGNISED

Steve Edmonds, Crescent School Principal is being celebrated with a NSW Community Service Award in recognition of the significant contribution he has made to the local region, particularly as the Principal at the Crescent School in Goulburn.

State Member for Goulburn, Wendy Tuckerman presented the award to Mr Edmonds in surprise at the Crescent School Goulburn presentation.

Mrs Tuckerman congratulated Mr Edmonds on the honour, acknowledging his personal dedication to education and the work he has undertaken to develop the school.

“Mr Edmonds has also exhibited an exemplary level of leadership aptitude to establish and maintain a committed and specialised staff group – each reflecting their own dedication to creating a wonderful community within the Crescent School.

“Mr Edmonds is highly respected by the school community, always advancing his education and implementing new ideas at the Crescent School for the benefit of his students and staff, working with many other services or providers in unison to achieve student advancement.

“Mr Edmonds provides an unfailing steadfast approach to his role, providing opportunities for students to achieve across education, daily living, social connection, enjoyment, learning and ongoing personal development.

“I sincerely commend Mr Edmonds and congratulate his inspirational leadership and sincere and open approach to the school and broader community –  a well-deserved honour,” Mrs Tuckerman said.

The Crescent School provides a specialised setting to meet the needs of children and young people aged between four and eighteen years, who have a range of intellectual disability, complex health care needs, mental health conditions and /or behavioural support needs.

The NSW Government Community Service Award was nominated by the Local NSW State Member of Parliament for the community work performed within the electorate.

The nominee should be held in high regard in the community with strong ethical and community values. Only community work of a high calibre will be considered for the award – an official certificate bearing the NSW State Coat of Arms and the Premier’s signature.
