The upgrade of the two basketball courts at Moss Vale and District Basketball stadium will be delivered and Lackey Park Indoor Sports Centre will begin to take shape – thanks to the NSW Government’s Stronger Country Communities Fund and Regional Sports Facility Fund.
Member for Goulburn Wendy Tuckerman joined the Moss Vale District Basketball Association Chairman, Nigel Browne, Secretary Margaret Beaumont, and Directors Paul Barcicki, Eric Hackett and Joanne Marr to announce the funding.
“I am delighted that the NSW Government is covering not only the entire cost of the basketball’s flooring, backboards, canteen and office upgrades – valued at $501,478 from the Stronger Country Communities Fund – the NSW Government has also seen fit to fund an additional $546,477 towards the Lackey Park Indoor Sports Centre.
“The Moss Vale and District Basketball association are so fortunate to have a dedicated committee who have grand plans for the facility, and are taking immediate action to improve the game,” Mrs Tuckerman said.
MVDBA Director, Paul Barcicki, welcomed the funding.
“These are exciting times for Moss Vale and District Basketball Association, as we continue to improve the facilities and grow Basketball in the region,” Mr Barcicki said.
