Upgrades to the Sutton Community Oval Grounds will be delivered under the latest wave of projects rolling out under the NSW Government’s Stronger Country Communities Fund.
Member for Goulburn Wendy Tuckerman celebrated the announcement with Sutton & District Community Association (SDCA) and the players and parents of Sutton’s Football Club.
“I am delighted that the NSW Government is covering the entire cost of the upgrade, valued at $376,350, to make the much-needed improvements to the oval in Sutton.
“This funding will resurface and reseed the oval as well as provide for irrigation facilities – either a water tank or bore.
“It is wonderful news for Sutton and the wider community, particularly because it now means that the Capital Country Junior Football Club in Sutton will now be able to enjoy their first ever home game,” Mrs Tuckerman said.
Mark Burgess, President SDCA welcomed the news.
“The Sutton & District Community Association thanks our local member Wendy Tuckerman for her strong support for this important project, a joint initiative of the Capital Country Junior Football Club and the SDCA.
The upgrades to the Sutton Community Oval will benefit the whole community and in particular our younger community members”
Deputy Premier and Minister for Regional NSW Paul Toole announced that 435 projects across every single one of the state’s 93 regional Local Government Areas (LGAs) would receive funding under Stronger Country Communities Fund Round Four.
“The Stronger Country Communities fund delivers guaranteed investment in every single regional LGA in NSW, and has seen $500 million invested across more than 1900 local projects since 2017,” Mr Toole said.
