Residents in the Goulburn electorate who are unable to check-in using smartphone operated QR Codes are being encouraged to register to receive a personalised “check-in card”.
Member for Goulburn Wendy Tuckerman said the new cards, which could be presented at supermarkets and other essential retail businesses to “scan in” – similar to the dine and discover vouchers.
“We want to make sure the COVID-Safe check-in as safe and as accessible as possible, which is why we’re introducing the COVID-19 check-in card,” Mrs Tuckerman said.
“A person’s COVID-19 check-in card can be scanned by businesses as a faster and safer way of manually checking-in.
“While other check-in options must still be provided at all shops and venues, this is an extra – and easier – option to ensure that everyone in the community can be COVID-safe when visiting venues.”
Mrs Tuckerman said the Service NSW app was also undergoing regular updates to make it even more user-friendly.
“New features coming soon will include allowing users to review their check-out history and add check-out times, as well as making it easier to sign-in to the app while wearing a mask,” Mrs Tuckerman said.
“NSW’s QR Code check-in system takes the pressure off our contact tracers by allowing them to spend less time on administration and more time on case interviews with people that have tested positive to COVID-19.”
The new check-in cards is available via the Service NSW website https://www.service.nsw.gov.au/transaction/create-covid-19-check-card or by calling 13 77 88. Cards will be provided to Service NSW customers via mail or digital download.
