People across the Goulburn electorate community are urged to make sure they know and follow the COVID-19 rules currently in place to keep regional and rural NSW safe, as the State remains on high alert.
Member for Goulburn Wendy Tuckerman said the NSW Government is doing everything it can to keep the community safe and residents need to continue following the rules to protect their loved ones and the community.
“The community has been doing a great job of keeping the region free of COVID-19 and given what is happening in Sydney, it’s more important than ever that we continue to follow the rules and keep each other safe,” Mrs Tuckerman said.
“I encourage everyone to visit the NSW Government website for a refresh about what we can and can’t do right now, including the rules around having up to five visitors in your home at any one time, wearing a mask while visiting all non-residential indoor premises and capacity limits for businesses.
“We can still enjoy a meal and a beer at the pub, but it is important to ensure you socially distance and abide by the four square metre rule both indoors and outside.”
People in the regions must not enter Greater Sydney, which includes the Blue Mountains, Central Coast, Wollongong and Shellharbour, for any reason unless they are returning to their primary residence, getting the jab or attending a funeral.
“My plea is for people to be on alert and understand that the restrictions are in place to protect you and your loved ones,” Mrs Tuckerman said.
“We’ve had a couple of recent incidents in the regions but fortunately none have resulted in seeding events and I would ask people to keep doing what they’re doing, which includes getting tested if you have any signs or symptoms.
“The restrictions in place across rural and regional NSW are helping keep everyone safe and I ask you to please keep wearing your mask where appropriate, use the QR code check-in and continue following the rules.”
