NEW SCHOOL ROOFS BOOSTING GOULBURN ELECTORATE ECONOMY

The NSW Government announced it will be investing $60 million as part of the 2020 budget to replace roofs at schools across rural and regional NSW.

The Roof Replacement Program will boost the regional construction economy by funding providing roof repairs and replacement for high priority schools.

Member for Goulburn Wendy Tuckerman MP said this investment is ensuring our schools have access to modern facilities to support our students learning outcomes.

“This funding will benefit our public schools by accelerating school infrastructure projects and minimise the impact of Covid-19 by creating local jobs and supporting economic growth,” said Mrs Tuckerman.

Ms Mitchell said the NSW Government wants to see every student no matter where they live enjoy the same educational opportunities and facilities.

“That is why this Government is investing in regional education more than ever, from new schools, maintenance, roofs and free tuition,” Ms Mitchell said.

The funding will benefit local communities by creating over 300 jobs across regional NSW. Wherever possible, local contractors and suppliers will be engaged to ensure that the impact of this stimulus is felt through the regions.

This program will be prioritised by the need of the school and community benefits.
