REGIONAL SCHOOLS RENEWAL PROGRAM BOOSTING GOULBURN REGION ECONOMY

The NSW Government has announced a new $120 million stimulus program, part of the State’s COVID-19 Recovery Plan, to provide a government co-contribution for regional school capital improvement projects.

The program will co-fund renovated and new facilities in the Goulburn electorate such as covered outdoor learning areas, toilet blocks, administration buildings and canteens.

The variety of smaller projects will support local business and jobs in the region as we continue to recover from the pandemic.

Member for Goulburn Wendy Tuckerman said students in the Goulburn electorate deserve access to the best quality education facilities.

“I know our school communities are always working hard to raise funds for additional projects,” Mrs Tuckerman said.

“The Regional Renewal Program will accelerate school infrastructure and it will also boost our local economy by creating local jobs.”

“Wherever possible, local contractors and suppliers will be engaged to ensure that the impact of this stimulus is felt in our electorate.”

Eligible schools will be contacted by the Department of Education to learn more about the program.
