WAR MEMORIAL FUNDING FOR BERRIMA REMEMBRANCE GROVE

The Berrima Remembrance Grove has received funding from the NSW Government’s Community War Memorials Fund to assist in the conservation for future generations.

Member for Goulburn Wendy Tuckerman today said that the Remembrance Grove is important to the Berrima community as well as the wider Goulburn electorate to remember service men and women who fought for Australia

“The funding of $9,000 to Berrima Residents Association will enable production of a conservation management plan for the Berrima Remembrance Grove.

“Our war memorials are where the community pays tribute to the contribution made to the war efforts and represents a significant part of the regions history,” Mrs Tuckerman said.

Acting Minister for Veterans Geoff Lee said these were two of 22 projects to receive funding from this round of grants from the Community War Memorials Fund.

“A total of $140,000 has been invested in memorials across NSW from Bonalbo to Bungendore and Woy Woy to Wagga Wagga,” Mr Lee said.

“Funding will restore honour rolls, repair stone monuments and provide access to specialist conservation advice.”
