Member for Goulburn Wendy Tuckerman MP today presented local community service advocate Daniel Strickland with a NSW Government Award for Recognition of his contribution to community service.
Mrs Tuckerman surprised Mr Strickland at his local workplace, Mission, in front of his trusted colleagues and other local government agencies.
Mr Strickland has worked for Mission Australia since 2002 and is currently the Area Manager for Southern Eastern NSW. The Member for Goulburn commended him for his passion for helping others in not only his work operations but also in his day to day personal life.
“It is a privilege to be here today to recognize the hard work by Dan and his dedication to our local community. Since my election in March this year, I have been in awe of his commitment to helping others, not just in his job but also in his personal life; his involvement in local initiatives to help those less fortunate or in times of need.” Mrs Tuckerman said.
Mrs Tuckerman nominated Mr Strickland for this award due to feedback from the local community and her admiration of his efforts locally. “Dan is everywhere and is always wanting to help” Mrs Tuckerman said.
The local Member also thanked Dan’s wife Jules, for her patience in allowing Mr Strickland, father of 5, to always be working so hard for the betterment of the Goulburn community and surrounds.
