COMMUNITY INVITED TO DISCUSS DIGITAL CONNECTIVITY IN GOULBURN

Local residents and businesses in the Goulburn electorate will be invited to share their views on digital connectivity at community consultation events.

Member for Goulburn Wendy Tuckerman said results from these community consultation events and an online survey will help inform the NSW Liberals and Nationals Government how the $400 million Regional Digital Connectivity program should be invested.

“These consultation events are a great opportunity for residents and businesses in the Goulburn electorate to have their say and help shape the future of digital connectivity for regional NSW,” Mrs Tuckerman said.

“With technology now part of our everyday lives, the NSW Government’s unprecedented investment in connectivity for regional NSW will deliver incredible opportunities for our region in the coming years.

“It will boost investment and business opportunities, improve community access to services, and ensure our younger residents have the educational opportunities enjoyed by their city cousins.

“We will be visiting communities across the state. Every community in regional, rural and remote NSW deserves to have the connectivity they need to contact emergency services, access online services, connect with family and friends, and run a business.”

Deputy Premier and leader of the NSW Nationals John Barilaro said the NSW Nationals are committed to listening to regional communities to ensure the policy is rolled out effectively.

“We know there are connectivity issues impacting our regional communities and understanding those issues is key to delivering a solution that will have a lasting impact in our regions,” Mr Barilaro said.

“We will be visiting communities across the state. Every community in regional, rural and remote NSW deserves to have the connectivity they need to contact emergency services, access online services, connect with family and friends, and run a business.”

The survey closes on 31 December 2019 and is open to all residents and visitors in regional NSW here: tinyurl.com/ConnectRegional. Hard copies of the survey are also available at the local Service NSW centre and council.
