GOULBURN TRIAL COACH SERVICE EXTENDED

Member for Goulburn Wendy Tuckerman has today announced the NSW TrainLink trial coaches services from Goulburn to Sydney and Canberra will be extended until March 2020.

Mrs Tuckerman said she wants to ensure the TrainLink coach trial connecting Goulburn with Sydney and Canberra has the best chance of success.

“I have been working closely with the Minister for Regional Transport and Roads Paul Toole, who has confirmed the trial will be extended until March 2020.

“We understand the difference better transport connections can make to communities in regional NSW and the extension of these services is vitally important.

“I encourage everyone to get on board and support the trial to give these services the best chance of becoming permanent,” Mrs Tuckerman said.

Earlier this week, Mrs Tuckerman presented a petition to Minister Toole to extend the trial, with an opportunity for ongoing consultation and review.

“The feedback provided by the community was certainly important in this instance  – every person who contacted my office had representations made on their behalf. I am committed to ensuring connectivity to our region.

“This service needs your patronage, I cannot stress enough use it or lose it Mrs Tuckerman said.

NSW TrainLink trial coach services connecting Goulburn with Sydney and Canberra started as a trial service in September last year.

The trial was extended into the second half of 2019, with a reduction in the days of operation for the Goulburn – Canberra service.

Seats on the Canberra and Sydney services can be booked online at www.transportnsw.info/regional, or by calling 13 22 32.
