Member for Goulburn Pru Goward has today announced a grant of $108,400 to Crookwell’s St Mary’s Primary School for the redevelopment of the school’s tennis courts from the NSW Government’s Infrastructure Grants Program.
Liberal Candidate for Goulburn Wendy Tuckerman said the NSW Government’s significant investment would provide Crookwell students and the wider community with an outdoor multipurpose facility for basketball, netball and tennis.
“The redevelopment of St Mary’s tennis courts will ensure the students will enjoy even greater use of the facilities well into the future.
“The funding from the Infrastructure Grants are made possible through the NSW Government’s Clubgrants Category 3 Fund, which reinvests a contribution from the state’s registered clubs gaming machine profits back into community projects,” Ms Tuckerman said.
Principal Sarah Lowe welcomed the funding.
“On behalf of the school community I would like to thank the NSW Government for this investment in our School” Ms Lowe said.
“Since I’ve been at the school these courts have been rarely used, and this funding will enhance the potential of this community area.
“This is already a wonderful open space with good parking – the new court will have revolving netball and basketball hoops and a removable tennis net
The NSW Government offers grants to communities across NSW to support the building, renovation and fit-out of infrastructure. Funding is available for arts and cultural infrastructure, sport and recreation infrastructure and projects that enhance facilities used to shelter communities and provide emergency services.
